Over 10 days, your Instructor Trainer will guide you through a comprehensive program that blends teaching mastery, safety, and performance. You’ll learn how to confidently lead freediving courses, from classroom presentations to open-water safety management, while building the skills to transform your passion into a rewarding career.

✅ Prerequisites

To join the W2I program, you’ll need:

• 🎯 Wave 3 / Lap 3 certification (or equivalent) or pass a crossover evaluation.

• ⏳ Pass the W2I entry exam (Wave 1–3 theory).

• 🚑 Valid First Aid / CPR certificate (issued within the last 2 years).

• 🔁 Crossover pathway available for instructors from other recognized agencies.

• 🎂 Minimum age 18

🧠 Skills & Knowledge Covered

As a W2 Instructor candidate, you’ll develop expertise in:

• 🏊 Dry & water skill teaching including warm-ups, static (STA), dynamic (DYN/DNF), and open-water (CWT, CNF, FIM).

• 🛟 Rescue & safety protocols from 25m blackout rescues to 50m towing with rescue breaths.

• 👃 Equalization coaching : Frenzel and introduction to mouthfill techniques.

• 📚 Risk management & course structure:  how to guide students safely and progressively.

• 💼 Intro to business & marketing strategies and launching your freediving career.

📏 Performance Requirements (assessed during course)

• STA: 4:00

• DNF: 60m

• DYNB: 100m

• CWTB/FIM: 40m

• CNF: 30m

• 15m standby rescue (1-min hang)

• CO₂ dive (20m after 1-min vertical finning with limited breathing)

• Blackout rescue from 25m + 50m tow (with rescue breaths)​

You’ll practice and be assessed in:

• Leading warm-ups

• Classroom presentations

• Dry teaching (theory & skills)

• STA, DYN, and OW teaching assessments (Wave 1 & Wave 2 skills)

• Open-water setup & handling
