Many wonderful beaches are just part of one of the world’s longest coastlines making it the perfect playground for Freediving. It takes about 20 years to spend a day on every island. Since Spanish colonial times, the country has been Asia’s largest Catholic country. Over a hundred ethnic groups, a mixture of foreign influences and a fusion of culture and arts have enhanced the uniqueness of the Filipino identity and the wonder that is the Philippines and Asia.

Cebu is one of the most developed provinces in the Philippines, with Cebu City as the main center of commerce, trade, education and industry in the Visayas. The capital of Cebu island is Cebu City. Cebu City is the first Spanish settlement in the country and the oldest city in the country. In the beginning of the 16th century the Spaniards arrived in the southern part of the Philippines. Since then Cebu City has been the centre of trade and commerce in the southern part of the Philippines and has an international airport with flights from and to all of Asia.
The marine life in the Philippines is overwhelmingly beautiful. Made up of more than 7,100 islands and located in the nutrient-rich Coral Triangle of Asia, the Philippines is home to an astounding number of marine creatures. World War II wrecks, steep drop-offs and tropical caves house colorful hard and soft corals as well as thousands of fantastical fish species.
Sardine run is a group of million sardines that keep staying together as their defence mechanism. They move and swim together as a group. Unlike the sardine run in Southern Africa that usually occurred in May to July. The sardine run in the Philippines is available to see for all year long. Freediving is a great way to enjoy the sardines run as you won’t scare them with the bubbles or with the boats. Just swim from shore and the fun begins!!!
