📋 Course Requirements

Before enrolling in the Wave 3 Instructor Course, participants must:​

• An active Lap/Wave 2 Instructor certification (or equivalent from other agencies).

• At least 1 year of teaching experience as a Lap/Wave 2 Instructor (or equivalent from other agencies).

• Minimum of 50 certifications (minimum 10 Lap/Wave 1 certifications and 10 Lap/Wave 2 certifications). Certifications from other agencies will count as 50%, meaning you’ll need a minimum of 100 certifications.​

Theory

• Teaching Mouthfill equalization

• Teaching FRC diving

• Teaching advanced mental techniques

Passing Requirement

• Attend the classroom sessions

• Pass the Final Exam

• Passing one dry skill presentation

• Passing 1 confined water skill presentation

• Passing 2 open water skill presentations

🐬 Performance Requirements​

 Pool

• STA 4’30”

• DNF 75m

• DYNB 110m

Open Water ​

✅ CWTB – 50m - 164ft

• Perform a comfortable and controlled dive to 50m using bi-fins,  with a 100–110 sec. dive time 

✅ CNF – 35m - (115ft)

• Perform a comfortable and controlled dive to 35m without fins with an appropriate dive time .

✅ 20m Stand-by Rescue (1 min)

• Demonstrate correct rescue procedures after a one-minute stand-by at 20m.

✅ Blackout Rescue 30m (98ft)

• Demonstrate correct rescue procedures in a freediving emergency scenario from 30m depth.

• with a 50m (164ft) tow incl. rescue breaths.

✅ CO₂ Dive​

• 1 min. of vertical finning with elbows above surface, one full breath, then a 25m/82ft CWT dive incl. 5m/16ft freefall
