🌊 Molchanovs Lap 2: Advanced Freediving in the Pool

Lap 2 is designed for certified freedivers who already have basic breath-hold, safety, and underwater swimming skills. This course builds on the foundations of Lap 1 and introduces advanced techniques, longer breath-holds, improved efficiency, and enhanced mental control.

🎯 Goal of Lap 2

To develop the physical, technical, and mental capacity for deeper pool performance, while gaining the skills to train independently and responsibly as a freediver.

🧠 What You Learn in Lap 2

  1.  Advanced Theory

    • Advanced physiology : oxygen consumption, hypoxia vs. hypercapnia

    • Recovery processes and adaptations from long-term training

    • Freediving-specific nutrition, hydration, and lifestyle tips​

  2. Advanced Breathing & Equalization

    • Deep breathing and recovery techniques

    • Advanced COâ‚‚/Oâ‚‚ tables

    • Thoracic flexibility and lung conditioning

    • Frenzel locks (prepares for Wave 2)

  3. Technique Mastery

    • Optimizing streamlining, kicking, gliding, and turns

    • No-fins technique (DNF) refinement

  4. Safety & Rescue Proficiency​

    • Managing LMC (Loss of Motor Control)

    • How to structure safe pool training sessions independently

🌀 Ocean BX in Lap 2

In Lap 2, Ocean BX helps you:

  • Build stronger COâ‚‚ tolerance

  • Cultivate calm under discomfort

  • Train focus, visualization, and pre-dive rituals

  • Strengthen mind-body awareness

This element is critical for managing longer, more intense breath-holds and staying mentally grounded during discomfort.

🎯 Certification Requirements

  • STAT 2'30

  • DYNB 50m

  • DNF35 (technique-focused)​

  • Buddy system  & rescue process

🧭 What’s After Lap 2?

  • Lap 3: High-performance pool freediving (with competition techniques)

  • Wave 2: Intermediate open water (depth up to 24–30m)

  • Molchanovs Base Training: Weekly workouts for certified divers

  • Ongoing access to Ocean BX practice tracks
